Public defence of Mr. Piotr Komorowskii PhD dissertation entitled:
"Biotolerance of biomaterial surface in the light of molecular investigations transcryptomics and proteomics"
took place on the 13th December 2010. Dr P.Komorowski had been a PhD student in the Division of Biophysics.

Department removal
Due to implementation of the project "Factory of engineers of XXI century"
the Department of Biophysics has been moved from the old building called "Szedy" to another old building
named “Akwarium”. The "Szedy" building is currently under renovation and reconstruction,
and we will move back to reconstructed building till the end of 2013 year.
Currently you can find us in a temporary location in "Akwarium", building C3, Al. Politechniki 11, 7th floor.
The opening "Laboratory of tissue’s culture" took place on 13th May 2009.

This laboratory is the first of its kind in the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering, and also the first one in Faculty of Mechanical Enineering. It allows to conduct more research concerning an effect of new materials on human cells, and it completes the bunch of research on biomaterials focused on determination of biocopmpatybility.

Public defence of Mr. Witold Szymański PhD dissertation entitled: "Research of bacterial biofilm on biomaterials surfaces" took place on the 11th June 2008. Dr W. Szymański had been a PhD student in the Department of Biophysics.

On 21st January 2008 the opening ceremony of New premises of the Biophysics Department took place.
